Ideas portal is to submit new feature and enhancement requests to Springboard team.
Request: to make the Springboard design accessible and usable by visually impaired users. Either create a high-contrast version for individual users or make all symbols and text accessible and compliant with the contrast checker tool
Why:
We have a visually impaired coordinator who assists with the advertising in Springboard.
The client has shown them around the new look and feel, however, they are having some issues seeing the left-hand side images.
When considering this, the other area that you may want to review is the headings on the dashlets and tables throughout the platform and subtitles on the menu descriptions -
With colour #7E8BA4 with small and non-bold text against White #FFFFFF background it fails accessibility using the contrast checker
Hello Zoe,
Just to update that we have received feedback from Webdev Lead as follows -
"Most of these issues have been addressed as the WCAG work we are doing. The only outstanding issue on this the faded icons for the main menu items on the left, which I will need to think of a way. No need to create Jira for this one as it is covered as part of the WCAG work. "
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
Swati
